BOOK WEEK: 19th - 26th August
This year WLPS are holding two exciting events to celebrate Children's Book Week.
The first is "Star Reader", which all children from Years 1-6 should have brought home on Wednesday. Your child's goal should be challenging, but still attainable, and the aim is to encourage children to read a variety of texts. Certificates for those children who achieve their goal will be presented on Friday 25th August at S4's class Assembly.
The second is a "Book Week Parade", where children from K-6 are encouraged to dress up as a character from a book. The Children's Book Week theme is "Escape to Everywhere", so the children may like to base the costume around that, dress up as their favourite character or a character from their favourite picture book/novel. Please note that dress ups should be based on characters from books and not movies and that this is not a free dress day. If your child chooses not to participate, they must wear school uniform. The parade will take place on Wednesday 23rd August at 9am in the Undercover Area.
The next parent assembly on Friday, August 25, will be conducted by the S4 students. The coffee van will also be on site.
